In Europe and USA impregnated wood has been successfully operating approximately for about thirty years. In Russia it appeared at the end of the aughts. Such wood started to be produced in our country only several years ago that precipitated rapid growth of its popularity at the consumer's market.
Impregnated wood is used for garden furniture, arbours, terraces, wooden flooring, children's playgrounds, fences, in frame houses - bodywork load-bearing structure, wooden foundation ledge, exterior decoration – batten, simulated log siding, block-house. It is also actively used for building of piers and berths. We use water-born wood preservative Tanalith E (England) for treatment which main components are copper carbonate (malachite) and boric acid that have antiseptic and antifungal actions.
Pre-impregnating humidity is provided in the drying chamber Katres-60 (Czech Republic). Material with 12 — 14% pre-impregnating humidity is placed into the autoclave. Vacuum is created inside, and air is exhausted from wood pores. Then the autoclave is filled with preservative that penetrates the wood structure under excess pressure created inside the autoclave. Depth of protective solution penetration is ensured by difference in rarefied internal pressure and high external pressure. The last stage is again vacuum that extracts excess protective solution. Pressure in autoclave is normalized, treated board after final drying is ready for use.
About safety: In Europe impregnated wood is used for stakes of vineyards. Winemakers dispelled doubts about harm of this product to humans. Attitude of Scandinavian countries to ecology is well-known: all wood used there in streets, in contact with ground and water is impregnated.
Rimwood impregnated wood is a long-term “vaccination” for wooden constructions protecting them within decades.

Wood is an excellent ecological and warm building material, the only disadvantage of which is its rapid inflammability.
That is why even at the stage of wooden construction building, especially residential houses, it is necessary to use wood fire retardants helping to reduce its combustibility and to make material less fire-hazardous.
At present the most effective technologies to protect wood is its processing by fire-retardant coatings and impregnation by special compositions.
The treatment consists in applying a layer of the special coating to the protected material surface. In this way, fire protection resources are applied by a brush or sprayed onto the wood surface, the penetration depth of the fire retardant into the wood will be negligible. And even with a guarantee declared by the manufacturer of a fire retardant, it cannot provide long-term fire protection of wood throughout the whole period of the wooden structure usage. It is also worth remembering that in accordance with fire safety standards, this surface treatment should be performed once in 2 years.
The second method which is the most reliable and durable technology of wood processing, is deep impregnation in an autoclave (impregnation) using the vacuum-pressure-vacuum technology. In this case the fire-retardant composition penetrates deeply into the material, the wood becomes protected for the entire lifetime, it turns into a non-combustible material, it is not amenable to fire, and after a source of the fire is removed, combustion and decay stop.
Company "RIMWOOD PRO" LLC offers its customers both options for wood treatment by fire retardants at affordable prices. When we treat sawn timber, we use the most contemporary technologies and effective compositions of fire retardants.
During surface treatment we use special industrial bathrooms where timber is soaked for a long time. This method is more effective than conventional brushing or roller application since it provides deep and uniform impregnation of the material with fire retardants.
We produce deep impregnation with fire retardants in special autoclaves. After loading of timber in the autoclave, vacuum is created inside - air is exhausted from wood pores, then the preservative is injected, and overpressure is created under which the fire-retardant composition penetrates deeply into the wood structure. At the last stage, vacuum is created again that extracts excess preservatives from the wood.
Attention! Please, carefully select sawn timber treated with fire retardants. Unscrupulous manufacturers often use the cheapest and ineffective fire retardants, or they simply make tinting of products in a pinkish color. Remember that high-quality processing of wooden structures with flame retardants is safety of you and your family.
